Velvet Record Cleaning Brush

The Spincare Velvet Record Brush is a straightforward tool for pre-play record maintenance. Its soft velvet pad glides across the record surface, lifting loose dust and debris from the grooves while dissipating static charge - reducing the clicks and pops that surface contamination causes during playback.

Velvet is a well-established material for record brushes. The fine fibres are gentle enough not to damage the playing surface, and the pad's natural properties help discharge static as it moves across the vinyl. A smaller maintenance brush is included, used to clear accumulated dust from the velvet pad itself - keeping it effective over time.

To use, place the record on the turntable and start it spinning. Slide the brush outwards from the centre of the record, allowing the rotation and the velvet pad to do the work. No pressure is needed.

For best results, follow up with anti-static inner sleeves to reduce re-contamination between plays. The velvet brush handles surface dust; for embedded dirt or deeper cleaning, a wet clean with a cleaning solution is the better approach.
