The Spincare Carbon Fibre Record Brush is designed for use before playback. Run it across a spinning record and the ultrafine carbon fibre bristles lift loose dust and debris from the grooves - the particles that cause clicks, pops and surface noise during playback.
Carbon fibre is naturally electrically conductive. As the brush moves across the record, it dissipates the static charge that accumulates on the vinyl surface. Static attracts dust, so reducing it at the point of cleaning helps keep records cleaner for longer after sleeving.
To use, start the record spinning on the turntable. Hold the brush lightly across the surface and allow the rotation to draw dust towards the edge. Step away from the turntable and rotate the cleaning assembly to clear collected particles from the bristles before the next play.
This brush is effective for removing loose surface dust. For embedded or stuck-on contamination, wet cleaning with a record cleaning solution or a record cleaning machine will achieve a more thorough result. For best results, sleeve cleaned records in anti-static inner sleeves to reduce re-contamination.
