Handling vinyl records by the edges is awkward at the best of times, and it is one of the most common ways records pick up fingerprints, oily residue and accidental damage. The Spincare Record Handling Mitts remove that risk by giving you a soft, secure surface to grip instead of the bare record edge - far more practical than repeatedly washing your hands or putting on gloves every time you play a record.
The mitts are especially useful when removing a record from a tight factory-printed cardboard or paper inner sleeve, where friction between record and sleeve is highest and the risk of micro-scratches is greatest. Use one mitt to draw the record smoothly out of its sleeve, then use two - one on each side - to lift it onto the turntable, flip it between sides, or place it back into storage. Handling the record this way keeps fingers off the playing surface entirely, reducing the risk of drops, slips and the oily fingerprints that affect playback quality over time.
Made from soft, anti-static microfibre, the mitts also help prevent the transfer of dust and static charge onto the record surface - keeping grooves cleaner between cleans, not just during handling. They are equally useful around a cleaning routine, making it easier and more controlled to load and unload dry records from cleaning machines and drying racks without slips or unwanted contact with the playing surface.
Each set includes three mitts in total: two for regular use, plus a spare so you are never without one.
